All about nails..

Colors (L to R): L'Oreal "Owl's Night", Sally Hansen "Night Lights", Sally Hansen "Coral Reef", L'Oreal "Target Red", Revlon "Facets of Fuchsia", Revlon "Starry Pink"

What's your favourite nail polish company?
I tend to flip flop between OPI, China Glaze and Essie. Really just depends on my mood. I've also been loving Revlon and Sally Hansen lately. I color their color selection and obviously the price is great! I like trying different brands too such as Nubar, Orly, etc.

Glitter or no glitter?
Glitter....always.

OPI, China Glaze or Essie
hmmm like I said it depends on my mood. I love Essie's neutral shades. I like CG glitters. And I like OPI's collections and color selection. It's hard to choose!

When do you change your nail polish?
Usually every other day. I just get board easily!

Whats your favourite colour on your nails?
That's a tough one....but I'd have to say OPI Glitzerland.

Darks or Brights?
Either. Just depends on my mood. I do think dark looks better with my natural skin tone though. Brights look good when I'm tan!

What are you wearing on your nails this moment?
Essie "Armed and Ready"

Matte Nails- In or out?
I have a couple matte polishes but I always put a top coat on them. I just like a glossy look.

French Manicure?
Meh. I'll probably do one for my wedding but like I said, I like to change my color often and I would get board with a french quickly.

Favourite winter colour?
I noticed myself wearing Essie's "Carry On" from their fall collection a lot this winter. I also like China Glaze "Ruby Pumps" for a more festive situation.

Colors (L to R): Essie "Jackie Oh My", Essie "Carry On", Nubar "2010", OPI "Save Me", OPI "Swimsuit...Nailed It!", Orly "Space Cadet", OPI "Glitzerland", Essie "Mint Candy Apple"

New hair color & Incoco nails

Ok, so after doing nothing all day I figured I should do something with myself. So I colored my hair. Nothing drastic. Just a touch up for my grays. Seriously. I'm 27. I've really been wanting a chocolate brown color so when I was looking for color I looked for anything with "chocolate" in the name. I ended up finding this:

I think I've tried this brand before. I like that it doesn't contain Ammonia. I hate that stuff, it burns my eyes and obviously if it does that, it can't be good for my hair. And it only takes 10 minutes. Love that. I actually kept it on for 15, I always do about 5 minutes more than the recommended time. After rinsing out the color and using the conditioner in the box (which smells really good by the way) my hair came out feeling soft and well.....healthy looking.

My only complaint is that whenever I use a dark brown hair color, I feel like it always ends up looking black. This has happened with every brand I've tried. Should I start using a lighter brown? Or should I just give in and go to and actual hairdresser to get my color done? Opinions are welcome!

Before blow drying my newly colored hair, I decided to use my favorite face mask:
I love this stuff! I got it earlier this year after hearing all about it on youtube and blogs. It's even better because it's cheap and you can buy it at your local drugstore (I believe I got mine at Ulta though). It really works too. Here's your obligatory face mask shot:
HOT.

I also decided I try the Incoco nail strips I got in last month's Birchbox. They're basically the same thing as the Sally Hansen ones. The first strip didn't go on so well I was thinking it was going to be a complete fail but they actually ended up looking nice. I did have to "patch" up some areas with leftover strips. I didn't have to do that last time I tried the SH ones. They also seemed to tear easier than the SH ones. Maybe it's just me but heads up anyway.

I really like the way they turned out. The design is kind of subtle, but it would be great for a night out. I might have to purchase this print or look for others!
Have you ever tried these strips? What did you think?

Nails of the Day: Black & Blue

Hey guys! Just wanted to share this little manicure with you. I finally jumped on the shatter wagon and bought myself some of the OPI polishes - the black and the silver. I've been having so much fun experimenting with them and I want to get all the other colors. The other day I did a blue and black combo that I absolutely loved. I got so many compliments on this, I will be wearing again!

Colors used:
L.A. Girl Flare (from F21)
OPI Black Shatter
Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Topcoat

Nails of the Day

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in "Mellow Yellow"

I really do love the color of this. It's so bright and happy. Plus it makes me look really tan ;)
It applies ok, kind of streaky but somehow manages to even itself out by the second coat. My thumbs don't look all the great though, but you can't really tell unless you look really really close.

NOTD = Nails of the Day

Sorry for the cell phone pics. Anyway I'm wearing Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in "Mellow Yellow"
I wasn't so sure about this shade when I bought it but I went ahead and tried it out. I got a ton of compliments on it at work. I think it's a nice departure from anything dark and from bare looking natural nails. This stuff is definitely NOT natural. It's like a bright ray of sunshine! Ugh that sounded super perky. Sorry. Anyhooo...yea great polish and very easy to remove and it didn't leave any stains on my nails. And at less than $3 it's fab-u-lous.

What's on my....

NAILS:
Sally Hansen HD in Digital

SKIN:
St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse.
Just got this the other day after hearing about it from lollipop26 on youtube. I've only used it once and I really like it. It was easy to apply and dried quickly. I did have a few streaks but I was kind of in a hurry. Also I would recommend washing your hands in between applications (put some on your arm, wash hands, apply on other arm, wash hands, etc. ) because  I really had to scrub to get it all off in the end since it does dry very quickly.
EYES:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
L'oreal HIP Duo in Devious
Maybelline Great Lash Big Brush
Maybelline black eyeliner
CHEEKS:
Almay bronzer
Covergirl blush....can't remember the name. Just I nice light pink blush.

ARM:
Pink & green bracelets from Target
White bracelet American Eagle

NECK:
Tranquil Night necklace from etsy. Similar here
BODY:
Bliss by Salvatore Ferragamo. I really like this fragrance - it's good for spring/summer. I sprayed it on one day when I was in Sephora and loved it and I could still smell it on myself 3 hours later during lunch. I went back and bought it immediately.

SHOULDER:
Dooney & Bourke Victoria Tote. Similar here...on sale!

Drugstore Purchases, Nails, Lotion

Well that pretty much sums it up. On my nails I'm wearing Commander In Chic from the new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure series. I have to say I'm very impressed with this polish. This is my second time wearing it. I just really love the color. I don't even need a top coat. I just put on my  Essie ridge filler underneath and I'm good to go.
On my toe nails I'm wearing Pamplona Purple from OPI. This is actually my mom's but I stole it..shhhh. I really like this color, it's dark-ish but not so much. Really pretty.
For the life of me I don't know how I got polish smudged all the way up there - right foot

I bought these Olay daily facials when I saw them on one of  Makeup by Mel's youtube videos. I already like these alot better than my Say Yes to Cucumber ones. I feel like they give a deeper clean and they're fragrance free which works well with my sensitive skin. Pretty good price too.

Next I got Garnier sleek & shine anti-humidity smoothing milk. I really love this stuff. I was using something else for awhile but I have come back to old faithful. It makes my hair really smooth and soft and I use it weather I'm straightening my hair or letting it dry naturally wavy.

Lastly is this Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom lotion. My mom had received this as a gift and wasn't too wild about the scent. I however do like this scent. It's soft and pretty and I just love the bottle...I know that's weird but I just love their new styling. By the way right now at BBW you can buy 3 get 3 free from their signature collection. Also free shipping on orders over $60. Use code FREESHIP60. Check it out

Now I must be off. Time for work!
