OOTD: Somewhere Beyond the Sea

Hey guys! So first up - I didn't actually wear this today. I know, right? But I actually had a tooth pulled today. It was horrible! It didn't hurt but it was just uncomfortable. It was my second to last tooth on the top right side so it was kind of awkward to get to. I had to arch my head all the way back and keep my mouth wide open the whole time. Not fun! Little of a backstory: I had a cavity in this tooth when I was younger and had to have it refilled twice. A few weeks ago I was eating something and felt something strange. I felt with my tongue and half my tooth was gone! It didn't hurt but I went to have it looked at 'cause that's just not normal, ya know? So my dentist gave me 2 options: get it pulled or have a root canal and try to save it. Ummm...my choice was pretty easy. The worst part about today (which I didn't find out till after the surgery) was that they had to break the rest of the tooth before they could take it out. *shudders* So anyway, it's all over now and hopefully it will heal quickly. I don't have any pain, mostly tenderness. But I have to eat soft food till it heals and I can't drink through straws. I love drinking through straws so this is going to hard but I don't want to have any more complications so I must follow doctors orders!
Sorry for the long story....let's just get onto the outfit shall we?
Like I said, I didn't wear this today. If you really wanna know THIS is what I wore today:
Sorry for the myspace mirror pic but I was on painkillers....

Now THIS outfit I wore out to dinner last week. This shirt was kind of tight on me last year and now it's kind of too baggy but I still like it. I got it from Ruche and I love the tie back. You can adjust the tie high, low, loose, tight or just remove it all together. I personally like it, it's something different. As for the shoes, I got them from Kohl's and I love them! They're totally different than anything else I own. I love the colorblocking and the fact that they can go with anything.

Top: Ruche (similar - not really but I love the colors and style)(everyday version - love this!)
Shorts: Old Navy (here) (but these are cuter) (scratch that - these are)
Shoes: Kohl's (here) (love these too) (and these) (cool weather version - I've had my eye on these and now they're on sale!)
Earrings: Forever21 (similar-ish

Well I'm off to bed for some much needed rest. Work in the a.m.
Oh and I got an email today saying my wedding dress is in and ready to be picked up! I'm definitely jetting over to David's Bridal tomorrow after work to get it - I can't wait!

Oh. Wow.

Hey guys! Word on the street it we're supposed to get about 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow, so I'm wishing hardcore for a snow day! I'm kind of already in the mindset of NOT going to work, so if I have to go I'll be totally bummed. Since I'm not supposed to be spending money (which honestly isn't going that well. oops. must. stay. away. from. Target.) I've been doing a lot of pretend online shopping. Sometimes it's fun to just look at nice things rather than deal with the buyer's remorse that comes later. I found some really cute things over at Ruche. Here are some of my faves:

omg. So freakin' cute! They also come in black but I really love this color, described as "blue gray". It's a nice transition color for spring.

Oooh. I love this color. And the style seems like it would be very flattering for most people. You could wear it with a cardigan or blazer now, and come spring it would look nice with a pretty skirt.

What a pretty way to punch up a basic gray cardigan! And so cute for spring.

I love this! It's really different and unexpected. And the price isn't bad either. Maybe if I'm good and save up my money this can be my present for losing my first 10lbs.

I need a big tote bag for when we go to the beach this summer and I think this one might fit the bill. It's a good size but it's not your typical beach bag.

That's right. It says "apron". I had to do a double take 'cause I totally thought this was a dress! I would totally rock this in the kitchen, but I'd be so afraid of spilling something on it!

Cutest paper clips ever! Hurry there's only 1 left!!!

And that's just a sampling of all the cute things over at Ruche. I wish I wasn't on a budget or I'd do some major damage.

Here's hoping for a snow day tomorrow! Fingers & toes crossed!

Hmmm...you look so familiar....

Hello everyone! I'm still trying to kick this cold. Ugh. It's not funny anymore. Really. So when I'm not at work, I've been in bed switching back and forth from watching crappy TV, reading magazines, and surfing the internet (and trying not to go broke seeing all the cute new sweaters and boots and such).
This afternoon I was checking out Forever21's website and I came across this:

Which looks an awful lot like this:
Anthropologie Plaza Cardigan - no longer available but check ebay (that's where I got mine)
There are subtle differences, I don't think the F21 version looks as long, but it's still a great replica and and even better price!
Tricia found some other look-a-likes which she posted about here

I also found a few Anthro look-a-likes at Ruche

looks like:
Now since Anthro still has some of these available I guess the Ruche version isn't really a steal. However the sizes are limited on Anthro's website and they don't have the light pink color. So it's really up to you.

And this:

reminded me of:
Anthropologie Millefeuille Tank - no longer available, not sure of the original price

Then I saw this:

Which made me think of this:
The Anthro version is cheaper, if only by a smidgen, but still.....

And it's kind of a far stretch but I saw this:

And instantly thought of this:
Anthropologie Casino Nights Blouse

There were also a few other things I saw on their website that reminded me of Anthro items but I couldn't quite remember the names:

And well, I just added this because I think it's adorable:
Love! Very Emma Pillsbury no?

Oh and I liked this too:

I also stumbled upon their purses:

Bottom line: I love Ruche! I've only ordered from them once but all of these things have me wanting to add to my collection ;)
If you've missed out on a certain Anthro item, or are on a tighter budget, I would definitely check out Ruche and Forever21. I know F21 has gotten in trouble for selling look-a-likes in the past but they still keep making them. I think eventually everyone copies each other. And on the other hand, not everyone can afford a $100 sweater.

Well this post ended up being longer than I expected. And now I'm totally exhausted. This cold is kicking my ass and I'm not too happy about it.
Off to Nyquil-land now! Goodnight!
