Spring picks from Target

It's been raining here since last night but at least it's not snow! And it's right around 65 degrees. I can live with that. I'm hoping I can catch a break in between rain to go for a run outside but it looks like I'll be heading to the gym instead. I am not working today so naturally I'm binge watching Law & Order: SVU and shopping online. Ooops.
I've been going crazy seeing all the spring items everywhere. I feel like we've all been waiting for this moment for so long. Target is usually my first go-to at the beginning of every season (duh). They always seem to have cutest stuff. But you already knew that. So here's just a few things I'm excited about and that I will probably be adding to my cart soon.

Spring picks from Target

Mossimo Sleeveless Scuba Peplum Top - I am in love with this blue color.
Threshold Lattice Toss Pillow - Target seriously has the best throw pillows and the prices are definitely awesome.
Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo - Wow that's a mouthful. But doesn't this look gorgeous? The colors look amazing and I'm in love with the pattern. Also comes in two other shades so it seems like it will work for everyone!
NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss  - I've been using NYX products for awhile and I'm so glad that Target sells them now. The products are great and you can't beat the prices.
Essie Nail Polish - I believe this is a color from their resort collection from last year but something about it just screams Spring to me. I can just picture myself wearing this shade by the pool with a matching cocktail in hand.
Merona Women's Layering Jacket  - I've had my eye on this since last fall so I guess technically it's not "spring" but I think it would work for any season since it's meant for layering. I'm torn between the sand color and the green color, but this is on sale right now so that means I should get both right? Right?!
Merona Women's Denim Jacket - This one is a no brainer. Everyone needs a denim jacket in their closet and the price on this is perfect.
Women's Mossimo Supply Combat Boots - OMG. I don't think this shoe could be any more spring. I need these. Now.
Merona Sleeveless Maxi Dress - Once again, this is a staple that every woman should have. I like that it's basic but with some accessories you could definitely dress it up.
Mossimo V-Neck Tee - I love to stock up on these basic tees each season. Plus they are so comfy!
Merona Rain Skimmer - How cute are these? I love my Hunter boots, but these would be cute for days when it's not down pouring. I love the green color.
Merona Satchel Handbag with Crossbody Strap  - This color is beautiful plus I love that you can carry multiple ways.
Women's Double Wrap Watch - I'm still all aboard the mint train and I might have to add this watch to my mint collection. It's such a fun color that's surprisingly versatile.

Well now that I've shared my find with you, I need to work on adding all of these to my collection (sorry bank account!).
What are you looking forward to adding to your wardrobe (or home) for spring? Let me know! I'm always looking for an excuse to shop ;)

A little bit of everything...

So clearly my new year's resolution to blog more is going well. I don't even have an excuse. I've just been lazy. I blame the weather. I don't even know what the sun looks like anymore. I feel like I'm stuck in a Twilight movie. I know I'm the only person ready for spring...
Anyway - I thought I'd share some things that have been going on lately and things that are coming up in the near future.

A few weeks ago, my mom and I had a mother/daughter bonding day. I love these days even more since I'm married and moved out of my parents' house. We went shopping (duh) at Target (as if there was anywhere else to go?). Okay, we did go to the mall. But we only went to the Godiva store. My mom wanted to go into Michael Kors, but I didn't feel like having a tantrum because I couldn't afford anything in there. Then I'd probably have to buy the handbag that got soiled with my tears. Our shopping day was one the nicest days we have had in a long time. It was sunny and supposedly 50 degrees, except it was so windy it felt about 10 degrees cooler. At least the sun was out. I guess.
Here's (part) of what I wore for our outing:
I loved this combo. It's one my new faves and I plan on wearing it again once it gets warmer.
Scarf: Forever21 (similar)
Button Up: Old Navy (here)

Now. On to the shopping. I picked up a few fun things at Target. I actually had a $50 gift card and think I only had to pay like $6 or something like that. Pretty good deal to me!
This mirror. I actually had 3 of these on my bridal registry and no one bought them for me! This was the last one a my Target and was on sale for like $11. I'm still not sure where I want to hang it.  I'd like to be able to track down the other 2  and use them how I originally planned.

This cute little night light. Right on trend with the chevron pattern. The only problem with it is that it's LED and and only goes off if the light is on or in direct sunlight. We don't really get direct sunlight in our apartment so I'm going to have to play around with it to see where I can use it. Maybe the bathroom?

These adorable socks from the $1 section at the front of the store. I'm pretty sure these are meant for a 5 year old but they fit me so your argument is invalid.

This mug and this cute plastic tumbler. I'm a sucker for a cute coffee mug...or any dishes for that matter. These are both on sale for around $1.50 each. Score.

I did get some other things but they were boring and not worth sharing (i.e. toilet paper and such).

Of course we stopped at Starbucks and I just had to have this cookie:
So cute right? I still haven't been able to eat it.

I got this from our trip to Godiva:
Along with 3 other pieces of chocolate that didn't make it past the second day. Ooops.

After all the shopping fun we needed nourishment so we went to this restaurant near my apartment called The Works. It used to be a firehouse. And it was. so. good.

Pot Roast Sandwich.

 Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Yum.

In other news, I've been trying to workout lately. I just can't seem to get motivated. Once again, I blame the weather. Only problem is, I'm supposed to be doing the Flying Pig half marathon in May which is exactly 2 months away. And I could barely run 2 miles last week. I definitely need to GET ON IT! As if I'm not crazy enough I'm also going to try to do my first marathon in September. The Air Force Marathon to be exact. At least I've got more time to prepare for that one. AND...I think my husband and I are going to sign up for Tough Mudder in October. Just to even things out I'm also doing a few 5Ks including The Color Run and Paige's Princess Run. I've also been really into POP Pilates for awhile. They're actually really fun to do and the trainer, Cassey Ho, makes the time fly by. But don't be fooled. Girl is intense! Just see for yourself:

I need to get my eating back on track though. I seem to do fine during the week, but come the weekend I tend to go off track. Chinese food, pizza, beer. I'm all about allowing yourself a cheat day but mine somehow turns into Friday night to Monday night. My husband doesn't always help either. He doesn't do it intentionally but I don't really say no either. I would switch to a lighter beer such as Bud Select 55 or Miller 64 but they're just not the same. Sorry. I also need to be better about working out on weekends. Even if it's just 20 minutes. Right now I'm looking at about 4 days a week of working out. I'd like to make it at least 5, if not 6. It's crunch time people. Spring is just around the corner!

What have you guys been up to lately? Any fun, future plans for spring and summer?
Let me know in the comments below!

Collective Purchases & Target haul!

Happy Friday the 13th! I, for one have been having and exceptionally lucky day. First off, I didn't have to work today. So I got that going for me. Second, I found some great things while shopping today. Plus I have a few things I've purchased over the last month or two. Warning: Picture heavy. So let's goooo!

To start, I bought this super awesome switch plate from this Etsy shop. A tad nerdy? Yes. But I still kind of love it.

Next, I picked up a few things from The Christmas Tree Shop. Have you guys ever heard of this place? It's amazing. Don't let the name fool you, it's not necessarily holiday related. They have a bunch of home decor, cookware, dishes, FOOD, bath and beauty items and so much more! Definitely check them out. Oh and if you can't see from the pic, the prices are super amazing too!

I recently got an iPhone so of course I had to go crazy on eBay shopping for phone cases.

Speaking of ebay...I got this shirt for a steal last week. Go Bruins!

Another ebay purchase.

I finally tracked down the Revlon "Whimsical" polish at Ulta a few weeks ago. They were having a buy one get one half off or something so I picked up this pretty pink glitter too.

I almost squealed (no pun intended) when I saw this cute timer at Bed Bath & Beyond last month. Makes me want to cook more!

I got these mint jeans from Kohl's from the LC line. I was hoping they were going to be a bit lighter in person but I do like them anyway. They are very stretchy which is nice! And I like the ankle length since I'm 5'3" and most pants are too long for me.

Next from Kohl's I got these flats from the Vera Wang line. I'm loving the cap toe and the spikes! I wouldn't wear these if you plan to do a lot of walking though, they were rubbing on my ankle all day.

Now, onto my Target haul. Most of these things were bought within the last month so they should still be there.
I seriously almost died when I saw this purse today. It's perfect. The color, the size, the price. Plus, I think it's bit reminiscent of the Rebecca Minkoff bag I've been coveting forever. Go get it. Now.

I couldn't pass up this cute headband. Navy and polka dots? Yes please!

These shoes were a steal at $12.99 (check stores, I saw them marked down to $9 today). The yellow is actually really bright, like highlighter yellow. And the ones on the right are an army green but they look gray in this pic.

I picked these shoes up for around $8 shortly after Christmas. I got a size 8 which is kind of big but I would probably wear them with tights anyway so it's not big deal. I just love the color, I have nothing else like these in my closet.

I also picked up the new BB Cream that everyone is talking about. I've heard mixed reviews so I just wanted to try it our for myself. I hope it works so I'm not out $12!

Last but not least I picked up the third book in the Hunger Games series. I still haven't finished the first book yet (I'm such a slow reader sometimes!). I don't want to see the movie till I've finished the book so no spoilers please!

If you've made it this far, you're awesome. Sorry for such a long post but I guess that's what happens when you post as sporadically as I do. Off subject, but every time I use the word "sporadically" I think of the scene from Clueless where Cher is teaching Tai "new" words. Anyone who loves this movie as much as I do will know what I'm talking about.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. It's supposed to be nice and I have to work. Figures. Oh well I'll enjoy what I can!
Happy Friday :)
xoxo

200th post & I'm a Maxxinista

So who knew I had 200 posts worth of something to say? Well I'm not sure if any of it was actually worth anything but in any case - woohoo 200 posts! Awesome. Hopefully there will be many more to come.

I've been to TJ Maxx twice this week...can we say obsessed? I didn't even to go Target...oh wait, yea I went on Monday. But seriously...I've been hitting the jackpot lately at TJ Maxx. That place is usually hit or miss for me. I'm not really one to rummage through racks for hours trying to find the perfect deal. I sort of just let them find me. Here's a few things I've picked up this week. I am officially a Maxxinista you guys.

Cynthia Rowley Pillowcases - $6.99 (Reg $12.00)
These totally don't match the sheets I currently have but I loved the Tiffany blue color of these pillowcases.

Nautica Polo - $10.00 (Reg $34.50, marked down to $19.99)
I loved the color of this polo and the little pink sailboat and stripe detail. So preppy.

Nine West wallet - $12.99 (Reg $39.99)
I saw this wallet and a Kenneth Cole wallet the first day I went. I couldn't decide between the two so I left them and decided to come back later. I didn't see the KC one today. I think I was leaning more towards the NW one anyway so it worked out.

Oh. My. Gosh. I love these shoes! I never have luck with shoes at TJ Maxx. They hardly ever have really cute shoes in my size (7.5) and when they do they're still kind of "expensive" in my opinion. I saw these and knew they had to be mine. I didn't see them in 7.5 so I tried the 7 and couldn't even put them on. So I tried the 8 and it fit comfortably. I don't think I'll have any slipping issues but I figure if  I do I can always buy insoles which I'll probably do anyway. I'm wearing these to a wedding a  couple months and they're not going to feel that great after 4 hours of dancing. Oh and when I went today I saw a 7.5 mixed in with the clearance section. grrrr. They weren't actually on sale just misplaced. But still.

Tommy Hilfiger purse - $29.99 (Reg $75.00, marked down to $50.00)
Purses are something else I never seem to have luck with at TJ's. Same deal as with the shoes - when I do find something it still seems too expensive especially when I've never even heard of most of the brands I see in there. I turned around and saw this purse. I saw it was Tommy Hilfiger and figured it was going to be a little pricey. But then I saw it was under $50 and I was like "MINE!" It's a classic style I've been looking for. I don't even mind the logo; it's not as in your face as Coach or Dooney and Bourke can sometimes be.

Do you guys ever shop at TJ Maxx? Or Marshall's, Ross, Nordstrom Rack, Burlington Coat Factory? If so, have you found any awesome deals? I'd love to hear (or see; if you have pics!)

Haul - Forever21 & Ulta

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a fun & safe 4th of July. I can't believe it's July already! In less than a month I will be here and here. I feel like I have so much to do before then. I'm such an over-packer but I'm going to try and make a list within the next week or so of what I need/want to take and TRY not to pack unnecessary items. I said TRY. Anyway here's a few things I got from Forever21 and Ulta a few weeks ago that I forgot to post. I'm sure a few of these things will be making their way into my suitcase for the beach trip!

Floral aviators - $5.80
Gold layered necklace - $4.80
Blue stone necklace - $5.80

*Only available in white online. Check stores! I will most likely use these as cover-ups as they're a bit short on me to wear as an actual dress.

Embroidered Boho top - $27.80 (?)
Similar for $10 cheaper!

This stuff rocks! I've been using it 1-2 times a week and my skin has be looking & feeling great!

Amazing! All the hype is true! This was $11.99 for a 3.4oz bottle. I've been using it for weeks and can tell the difference.

From L to R: OPI Silver Shatter, OPI Black Shatter, Essie Jackie Oh My

Such a pretty color and I'm considering it as a wedding day color!
